She's Next in Ukraine
Ukraine became the second country in the region, where Visa continued to empower women. In 2020, during the first stage of She’s Next, 6 educational webinars for female entrepreneurs were provided in partnership with SheExports, Women Economic Empowerment Platform, and gathered 1300+ female participants. Online-format gave hundreds of women from all over the county an opportunity to receive advice from the experts on business & leadership.
In 2021, the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day was organized, where 150 women had the opportunity to network with like-minded people, as well as top managers and owners of large Ukrainian businesses. 10 finalists presented their ideas to experts in a pitch format, and then the best of them received funding for business development, training at business school, and many new acquaintances and offers for cooperation.
The horrifying Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 led to millions of women losing their homes and jobs. To help them get back on their feet and find a new career path, Visa proudly became the first corporate partner of Projector Creative & Tech Foundation in May. We financed education grants for 56 Ukrainian women at the career crossroads to study Motion Design, Mobile Apps Design, and IT Project Management. Additionally, Visa offered grantees a chance to apply for a paid internship at our company and then selected two interns.
The initiative was supported by a social media campaign comprising a range of inspirational video stories and was covered in Ukrainian media. The initiative’s mission was also presented in the 5th panel ‘She-factor of recovery’ of the Second Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen.
Under She’s Next Empowered by Visa, the Diia.Business centers’ network, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, held the acceleration program “Vidvazhna” (“The Brave One”) for Ukrainian women who founded a micro or small business or plan to start one: about 5000 participants have joined the accelerator in online and offline, 6 winners received 1.3 million hryvnias in total for the development of their businesses.

Україна стала другою країною регіону, де Visa продовжила розширювати можливості жінок. У 2020 році під час першого етапу She’s Next було проведено 6 навчальних вебінарів для жінок-підприємниць у партнерстві з SheExports, платформою для економічного розвитку жінок, з аудиторією у понад 1300 жінок. Онлайн-формат дав можливість сотням жінок з усієї країни отримати консультації експертів з питань бізнесу та лідерства.
У 2021 році було організовано День жіночого підприємництва, де 150 жінок мали можливість поспілкуватися з однодумцями, а також топ-менеджерами та власниками великого українського бізнесу. 10 фіналістів представили свої ідеї експертам у форматі пітчингу, після чого кращі з кращих отримали фінансування на розвиток бізнесу, навчання в бізнес-школі та багато нових знайомств і пропозицій про співпрацю.
Жахливе вторгнення Росії в Україну в лютому 2022 року призвело до того, що мільйони жінок втратили домівки та роботу. Щоб допомогти їм стати на ноги та розпочати новий кар’єрний шлях, у травні Visa з гордістю стала першим корпоративним партнером Projector Creative & Tech Foundation. Ми профінансували освітні гранти для 56 українок, що змушені були змінити рід діяльності. Вони отримали змогу вивчати Motion Design, Mobile Apps Design та IT Project Management. Крім того, Visa запропонувала жінкам можливість подати заявку на оплачуване стажування у компанії, після чого дві стажерки успішно долучилися до команди.
Ініціатива була підтримана кампанією в соціальних мережах та містила низку надихаючих відеоісторій, була висвітлена в українських ЗМІ. Місія ініціативи також була представлена під час 5-ої панельної дискусії «Жіночий чинник відновлення» Другого саміту перших леді та джентльменів.
За сприяння She’s Next Empowered by Visa мережа центрів Дія.Бізнес за підтримки Міністерства цифрової трансформації України й Офісу з розвитку підприємництва та експорту провели акселераційну програму «Відважна» для українок, які заснували мікро- чи малий бізнес або планують розпочати власну справу: близько 5000 учасниць долучилися до акселератора онлайн та офлайн, а 6 переможниць отримали 1,3 млн гривень всього на розвиток власної справи.
